DANNY GREEN FOR SHERIFF

For the past year and a half I have worked as the chief investigator for the Shelby County District Attorney’s office. I took a leave of absence to run for Sheriff. My experience in law enforcement extends from the patrol officer to criminal investigations, and through to the prosecution of the cases in court.

Graduated from Lamar Regional Police Academy in Beaumont, TX

Moved to Shelby County to work under Sheriff Carl Shofner as Patrol Deputy, then Patrol Supervisor

Made Lieutenant in charge of Criminal Investigations

Received Certificate of Appreciation for work on a case from the United States Marshals Service, Nov. 2001

Continued to work for Sheriff James Moore

 Grandparents Mary Lee & Vessie Green of Carrolltown area in Shelbyville.

 Parents are Fred & Bess Green. (Fred was constable of Pct. 2 in the 60’s)

 Attended Shelbyville High School thru 1971, family moved to California

Married my wife, Cheryl in 1992

 Returned to Shelby County in 1997, to take position with Sheriff’s Dept.

 I have three adult children, Matthew,24, my youngest graduated from Shelbyville in 2002. Emily, 26 and Amy 28.
